Timeline

December 23, 1807: Joseph is born in East Rockaway, New York.

February 1, 1834: Joseph marries Mary Elizabeth Abrams at the Dutch Reformed Church in Jamaica, Queens, New York.

1870: Joseph is living in Hempstead, Queens, New York, with his wife (Mary) Elizabeth, school-aged daughters Josephine and Rachel, and young son Trophar. He works as a boatman. His real estate is valued at $1,000, and personal estate at $500. His adult son Hiram lives next door with his wife and baby girl.

June 12 1872: Joseph dies at the age of 62 in Cedarhurst, Nassau, New York. He is buried in the Methodist Episcopal Churchyard.
