Biography

Drucilla Jane Pemberton was born on 07 Oct 1842 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of William Pemberton and Sarah Ann (Barnett) Pemberton. Around 1851 the family migrated to Indiana. The 1860 census^[1] lists Drucilla as living with her family in Owen Township, Warrick, Indiana where her father is farming.

On 12 Oct 1860 Drucilla married^[2] Benjamin Brooks there in Warwick. Between 1861 and 1883 Drucilla gave birth to their ten children. The 1880 census^[3] shows Drucilla raising her family next door to her parents in Owen Township, Warrick, Indiana where Benjamin is farming.

In 1904 William Wood married her youngest daughter Elsie and they stayed^[4] to help run the farm while William also worked in the coal mines. Drucilla Jane Brooks passed away on 16 June 1932 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. She is buried^[5] at Barren Fork Cemetery, Folsomville, Warrick County, Indiana next to Benjamin.
