Biography

Mary J. Perry was born in May 1858 in Tioga County, New York. She was the daughter of Steven and Hannah Perry. In 1870, her family was in Caroline, Tompkins County, New York. [1]

In 1875, she was in the household of her brother Joseph Perry in Caroline. [2]

In 1877, Mary J. Perry married Eugene Brown. In 1880, they were farming in Willseyville, Town of Candor, Tioga County, New York. They remained in the same general area of Willseyville, Danby and Brooktondale where they raised a large family. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Their children were: Lillis B. (Nov 78), Henry J. (1883), Claude (1884), Eliza (Jan 1887), Jabez T “Jabe” (Feb 1889), Charlotte “Lottie” M. (Feb 1893), Martha C. (Oct 1894) and George W. (Aug 1897), and Eloise Julia “Ella” (1901).

Mary J. Brown died June 14, 1931 at age 73. She is buried in Central Chapel Cemetery in Brooktondale, Tompkins County, New York. [8]
