Joseph Perry walks onto the pages of recorded history on 30 September 1696 when John Forrest reported he had paid him £2 pound for making the coffin for Philip Larrance of Prince George's County, Maryland.[1] On 15 February 1700 Joseph purchased 173 acres in Prince George's County.[2]
Joseph married Mrs. Elizabeth Forrest, the widow of John, about the year 1699.[3]
Joseph died before 17 October 1716 when his widow, Elizabeth, qualified as the administratrix of his estate.[5]
Research Notes
Digital images of some of the documents listed as sources for the biography above may be found at Family SearchJoseph Perry
The birth year and place for Joseph is a guess with no supporting documentation.
The parentage of Joseph is unknown. There are no sources to support the parents on Wikitree and there are no sources to support the two different sets of parents given on FamilySearch. Not being a Perry family expert, I have not unlinked the multiple parents other researchers have given Joseph.
There is no primary source document that gives Joseph the middle name Charles. This seems to be a researcher's way to indicate Joseph was the son of Charles, which is unproven.
