Ola was born at Lövestad Kungsgård in Lövestad parish, the son of farm hand Per Olsson and his wife Signe Hansdotter [1]. As an adult, Ola lived at Tunbyholm and was later an åbo (i.e. he farmed and held the lease to the land) at Tunby No 17 from 1857 [2]. In October 1865, Ola lost his wife, newborn daughter, and three year old son Anders in the span of one month.
In 1870, Ola's emigrated to America with 2 sons and 3 daughters [3][4]. Johanna, Kersti, and Per were definitely among the children who emigrated. It is unclear if Nils or Hans or if the numbers were entered in error.

Research Notes
Unclear when the last name was changed from Persson. In the Swedish records for 1870, the year he emigrated, his last name was still Persson. It was after 1865, so his children (the youngest was born in 1865) would not have had the LNAB Ornberg. Those of his children that have a last name in Swedish records used Olsson/Olsdotter.
His wife Hanna passed away in 1865 before the family emigrated. There was previously a profile for another person of the same name with dates 1835-1894, passing away in Swede Grove. It is possible that he remarried, but Hanna (1825-1865) was the mother of his children and the only wife in Swedish records.
