Elizabeth Pattison was possibly born in County Cork, Ireland, parents unknown. As she married in 1804 she was possibly born in about 1786/87. It is known that she had a brother named Richard Pattison and possibly one called John Pattison[1].
She married James McGivern in 1804 in Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland and they were the parents of John McGivern, Mary (McGivern) Roche, Richard Pattison McGivern, Elizabeth (Bessie) (McGivern) Humphrey, Anne Bridges (McGivern) Hathaway and Margaret (McGivern) Hare [1].
There is no indication that Elizabeth and her husband ever left Ireland, but five of their six children did. Her son Richard settled in Saint John, St John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1837, after having spent 3 years in New York, three of her daughters, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret also moved to live near their older brother, then in 1847 her younger son John moved to Canada also where he was an Episcopalian Minister. Only one of Elizabeth's children remained in Ireland, Mary, who had married Thomas Roche in 1837 [1]. Mary did eventually leave Ireland, moving to New Zealand after the death of her husband where Anne had also settled, after the death of her husband,
There is no knowledge of when Elizabeth died.
