Biography

When Joel Phillips was born on August 20, 1783, in Mansfield, Massachusetts, his father, John, was 32 and his mother, Abigail, was 34.[1] He married Patience Seamans (1787-1878) in 1808. They had at least six children:

  • Isaac Phillips (1809–1879)
  • Joel Jacob Phillips (1813–1871)
  • Albin B. Phillips (1817–1898)
  • Harlow C. Phillips (1819–1900)[2]
  • Clarinda M. Phillips (1821–1905)
  • Welcome R. Phillips (1826–1907)

He died on May 24, 1854, in Truxton, New York, at the age of 70, and was buried in Cuyler, New York.[3]
