Biography
Thomas James Pittwell was born in 1877 in Wolstanton, Staffordshire, England, United Kingdom, son of Joseph Pittwell (1858–1879) and Sarah Allsop (1858– ).[1]
In 1881, Thomas (3) was living at Primitive St Brindley Ford, Wolstanton, Staffordshire with his parents, Thomas Burton (21) and Sarah Burton (23). [2]
In 1891, Thomas (13) was living in Ince in Makerfield, Ince in Makerfield, Lancashire, England with his parents, Thomas Burton (31)Sarah Burton (33) and Joseph Burton (7); and Emily Burton (4). [3]
Thomas (20) married Mary Ann Carr (21) (born on 22 December 1876 in Wigan, Lancashire) on 20 August 1898 in St Mary's Church, Ince-in-Makerfield, Lancashire.[4] [5]
In 1901, Thomas (23) was living in Wigan, Lancashire with his wife, Mary A (24); and Emily Pittwell (8, /12 daughter). [6]
In 1911, Thomas (33)'s occupation was 'coal miner hewer'. He was living at 39 Birch St Earlestown, Newton in Makerfield, Lancashire with his wife, Mary Ann (33); and their children, Emily (10), Elizabeth (9), Jane (6), John (4), and Edith (1). [7]
Thomas served in World War I. [8], [9], [10]
Thomas died on 1 April 1916 in France, aged 38. [11][12][13]
