Martha was born in 1798. She is the daughter of John Place and Elizabeth Hutchings.
When Martha Place was born on November 6, 1798, in Kittery, Maine, her father, John, was 50, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 43. She lost her father when she was only 8 years old. She had six brothers and six sisters.
