Julia along with her husband, Vivian and daughters Myrtle and Ivy, joined the LDS church in 1893. They took part in the development of the church in Tasmania. They were the first family on record to join the Mormon church in Launceston, Tasmania. [1]
In 1922, Julia immigrated to Utah, USA where her daughter, Cecil was already residing. In 1932, Julia married Thomas Nichols.
Biography
Julia Place was born on 10 May 1869, in George Town, Tasmania to parents, Ralph De La PlazaMaria Grubb. Julia had one daughter in 1885, Maria Lapthorne with Walter Lapthorne; who she never married.She married Vivian George Nash on 27 October 1886, in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. They were the parents of 5 daughters together. She immigrated to California, United States in 1929 and lived in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia in 1911 and Springville, Utah, Utah, United States in 1930. In 1932 , Julia married Thomas Nichols at Salt Lake City, Utah. She died on 10 October 1936, in Riverton, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 67, and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah, Utah, United States.
