Gertrude (Pointon) Soden was born in the Colony of Tasmania (1856-1900)

Gertrude Louisa Pointon, daughter of Frederick Pointon and Maryann Elliott, was born on 19 Jun 1871 at Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia. [1]

Gertrude Louisa Pointon (Spinster, 22, Domestic) married John Frederick Soden (Bachelor, 22, Carpenter) on 9 Aug 1893 at the residence of Mr. Knott, Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia. [2]

Gertrude died in 1947. Her death was reported in the Advocate (Burnie, Tas. : 1890 - 1954) Wed 10 Dec 1947 Page 2 Family Notices: [3]

SODEN.-On December 9, 1947, at the Ulverstone General Hospital, Gertrude Louisa, relict of the late John Frederick Soden, of Ulverstone, and loving mother of Roy (S. Australia), Myra (Mrs. J. P. Gilligan, Victoria), Aubrey (Beaconsfield), Iris (Mrs. G. Johnstone) and Jack (Ulverstone) Clair and Murray (Queenstown), Jean (Mrs. H. Baker, Victoria), Kitty (Mrs. G. Roland, Ulverstone) and Douglas (Victoria); aged 76 years.
