Biography

Mary Ann Polhill was born on 20 December 1799 and Christened on 23 January 1800 in Dover, Kent, England^[1]. She was the daughter of Richard Polhill and Hannah Steddy.

It would seem that Mary was living with her brother, Richard, and their mother, at the time of the 1851 Census, was aged about 51 and unmarried, at Pelham Place North, Kensington, Middlesex, England^[2].

In 1871 she was still living with her brother Richard, their mother having died in 1857, at at Pelham Place North, Kensington, Middlesex, England, still unmarried and now aged about 70 years^[3].

Mary Ann died around the same time as her brother in 1888 at Middlesex, England^[4].
