William was born in 1828 in Kentucky or Tennessee. He is the son of James or John Polston and Talitha (Tabitha?) (her maiden name may have been Talitha Isabella Plaster).
His brothers and sisters were: Lydia, Nancy, Keziah, Elijah/Elisha, Andrew, and Caroline.
He married Nancy Bolin or Bolen or Bolan.
Their children included Horatio or Harriet, Celia Ann, Matilda, Delila, Therissa, Tabitha, William H, Elijah W, Amanda, Polly A, John Franklin, James R, Andrew Marcus, and possibly others.
William passed away in 1889 in Whitley County, Indiana.
