Ichabod Pope was born on April 07, 1741 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Province of Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Elnathan Pope and Rebeckah Mitchell. [1]
He married Susanna Pope, widow (possibly Susanna Negus, widow of Benjamin Pope) on 4 September 1793 in Dartmouth.[2]
Land Records
In 1791, Elnathan Pope of New Bedford, yeoman, "for and in consideration of the love, goodwill, and affection I bear my son Ichabod Pope of Bridgewater" deeded "a certain farm" in Bridgewater.[3]
Probate
The will of Ichabod Pope of Bridgewater was dated 13 March 1795 and proved on 21 May 1795 in Plymouth. He mentioned his wife Susanna, and his children, Benjamin Pope (executor), Freeman Pope(executor), Lois Pope, and Mercy Pope.[4]

He lived in Dartmouth, and on the death of his father in 1734, inherited the ancestral estate of his grandfather Thomas Pope the emigrant, on the present site of Fairhaven. Married, Nov 12, 1727, Rebecca Mitchell, of Kingston (born 1705, died Nov 30, 1764. Children, all born in Dartmouth:
