Biography

Delmer Post was born in 1891 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Delmer was the 6th of eight siblings - four boys and four girls - of parents Orson Post and Sarah Richens.

His Canadian parents immigrated to New York some time before 1887, when Ethel Alma Post was born.

The family made their way to Utah sometime before 1888 when Mary Betta and their next four children were born. Delmer worked variously as 'helper' for the Oregon Short Line, and clerk in a grocery store. Delmer was a cook/chef who married four times and fathered six children - four daughters and two sons. His first marriage, which produced his first child, did not last long. By 1920, Delmer was married again and living in Portland, Oregon, where his second child, son Delmer Clareance, was born. His third marriage to Rosie Gessel, a nurse, in Washington, also did not last long. Back in Oregon, Delmer married Lena in 1941. They were still married in 1955, living in Kelso, Washington. Delmer lived long enough to pose with three grandchildren.

Delmer married 1st Veda Raeburn on May 15, 1915 in Salt Lake City. Delmer was 22, Veda was 21.

Delmer married 3rd Rosie Gessell, 20 April 1935, Chehalis, Lewis County, Washington. Delmer was 38, divorced, a cook. This was Rosie's first marriage. She was a 25-year-old nurse from Chehalis, Washington. Although Delmer has "Number of Marriage: 2nd" on the marriage record, it is his 3rd marriage.
He married 4th Lena M Joslin in Portland, Oregon, 25 Jan 1941. 44-year-old Delmer was a divorced cook. Lena was 22, a waitress from Missouri. They both lived in Portland, Oregon, and married in Clark County, Washington. They had four children:

WWII: Delmer Clarence Post lived at 514 NE 28th Avenue, Portland, when he registered for the draft on April 26, 1942. He was 47, born 4 September 1894 in Salt Lake City. Telephone We 1154. Delmer was a cook at Oregon Shipyards Cafeteria. Delmer was almost 6-ft, 147 lbs, brown eyes and hair. "Scars on face."

Death

Delmer died at age 74 in 1967 in Washington state.
