Biography

Marie was born around 1668. She was the daughter of André Poutré and Jeanne Burel. She passed away in 1696.

Note: She cannot be Marie Madeleine born in 1670. She is listed as Marie only on 1681 census, aged 13, and given the age of 14 on her marriage in November 1681. Madeleine would not have been old enough to marry that year, the legal age for girls to marry being 12 then. Her funeral record in 1696 gives her 28 years of age.

Au recensement de 1681, la famille est comptée 2 fois, une à Montréal et l'autre à Sorel: (the family were counted twice on 1681 census)

hi Sheila, LNAB needs to be corrected, it was Poutrez, don't know where the Poudrette comes from unless much later.
