The couple had 16 children: Lucinda Powell, William Powell, Ann Elizabeth Powell, Hembry M Powell, Sarah Powell, Ralph Quarles Powell, Joseph Powell, Ann Maria Powell, Frances Jane Quarles Powell, Nicholas H Powell, James N Powell, Susan Margaret Quarles Powell, George Albert Quarles Powell, Martha Ann Q Powell, Eliza Jane Q Powell and Sarah Ann Maria Powell.[2]
