HER OBIT
Marietta Eilenberger, 97, of Minisink Hills, died Monday, July 14, at t he Milford Manor Nursing Home, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of C hauncey K. Eilenberger, who died in 1973.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harrison and M arietta "Bop" (Tappan) Powers.
She was a lifelong resident of the Minisink Hills area, residing with h er mother until Jan. 28, 1976.
She was a co-founder of 4 Maples Press in Minisink Hills and was very active in the business from 1944 to 1970. She was a former tax collector f or Smithfield Township and was active in the Pocono Bridge Club, Music C lub of Stroudsburg, a volunteer of the Monroe County Library and a past m ember of the Shawnee Fire Company Auxiliary.
She enjoyed music, bridge and chess and in her 80's, learned to play th e organ and in her 90's, learned to play Web TV.
She is survived by a son, David Eilenberger and his wife, Susan, of Say lorsburg, a daughter, Suzanne Anderson of Effort; two grandchildren, David John Eilenberger and his wife, Megan, and Laura Marie Witcraft and h er husband, Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Alicia Witcraft and Dav id Witcraft; a brother, Richard "Dick" Powers of Florida; and her cat companion, Dee Dee.
She was preceded in death by a son, George "Pete" Peterson Pilot; and a g reat-grandson, Brad Peterson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Sat urday, July 19, at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., St roudsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the f uneral home. Burial will be in the St. Marks Cemetery, Minisink Hills. Memorial donations may be made to the Meals On Wheels of Monroe, North N inth St.,
