He married firstly Mary Avery who bore him a son John Poyntz and 2 daughters, Martha and Mary.[1] His wife Mary was buried on 3 January 1680. [3]
William's second wife was Jane Monteage, daughter of Stephen Monteage and his wife, Jane Deane. [3] They were married at All Hallows London Wall on 4 April 1681. [4] She bore him 2 daughters and 7 sons:[1] Hannah, Jane, Stephen, Deane, Newdigate, Launcelot, William, Joseph, and John.
William died in 1720 and was buried at Battersea.[1]
