Ranny dostał się do rosyjskiej niewoli, przebywał w szpitalu we Włodzimierzu w Rosji: Polaciak Josef, Lstlnfst., IR. Nr. 56, Galizien, Zywiec, Oczków, 1893; verw., kriegsgef., Vereinigtes Evakuationsspital Nr. 27 in Wladimir, Rußland.
Więzień obozu KL Mittelbau-Dora, figuruje na stanie obozu z dnia 3 maj 1944, numer 39480. Sprowadzono go z obozu KL Buchenwald, gdzie był osadzony 7 kwi 1944
