Hannah Washburn and Seth Pratt had chil­dren, including:

2444 viii Cloe/Chloe Pratt, born on 25 Feb. 1768 in Bridgewater,[1683] married Maj. Jere­mi­ah6 Conant, of Pomfret, Windsor Co., VT, son of John5 and Abihail (Pratt) Conant,[1684] as his second wife, on 30 Jan. 1794 in Bridgewater.[1685] He was born on 28 June 1758 in Bridgewater,[1686] a grandson of Nathaniel4 and Elizabeth (Hains) Conant (Jr.), of Bridgewater, and probably of Deacon Solomon and Sarah (Johnson) Pratt,[1687] and had married first to her cousin, (2450) Mary5 Leonard, daugh­ter of Capt. Solomon4 and (929) Joanna6 (Washburn) Leonard (Jr.), on 21 Mar. 1782 in Bridge­water.[1688] He served as a Private in Capt. John Porter’s Company from Bridgewater in 1775, in Capt. James Allen’s Company in 1776, and in Capt. Edward Cobb’s Company in 1777, and a Sergeant in Capt. Nathan Packard’s Company in 1778 during the Revolutionary War.[1689] Jeremiah Conant was a carpenter, Major in the local militia, a Selectman of Pomfret, a Justice of the Peace in 1806, and deacon of the church in Pomfret from 1806 to 1818.[1690] He was living in Pomfret, Windsor Co., VT, in the 1800,[1691] 1810,[1692] and 1820 federal censuses.[1693] He died intestate on 1 Jan. 1828 in Pomfret, VT.[1694] His son Marshall Conant was granted administration of his estate on 13 Jan. 1828, John Miller and Wyman Morris, of Pomfret, were appointed to appraise his estate, which Marshall Conant represented to be insolvent, so they were also appointed to examine the claims against the estate at the same time. The inventory of the estate of Jeremiah Conant, late of Pomfret, dated 25 Feb. 1828, totaled $1092.77, including his real estate of 55 acres of land with buildings in Pomfret valued at $650. Chloe Conant, the widow, petitioned for $150 in personal goods out of the estate, in addition to her right of dower in the real estate on 3 Dec. 1828. The court ordered Marshall Conant, the administrator, to sell the real estate of the deceased for the payment of debts with the reversion of the widow’s dower on 7 Jan. 1829, which was finally sold to Silas Hyde of Hartford, VT, on 11 July 1831.[1695] Chloe (Pratt) Conant was living in East Bridgewater, MA, in the 1850 federal census, with her son, Thomas Conant, and she died a widow on 29 Apr. 1851 in East Bridgewater, aged 83 years.[1696] Chloe Pratt and Maj. Jeremiah Conant had children:

a. Chloe Conant, born on 24 Feb. 1795 in Pomfret, VT,[1697] marriage not found.

b. Seth7 Conant, born on 3 Oct. 1796 in Pomfret,[1698] married 1.) Melvina Perkins on 13 Jan. 1824 in Pomfret, VT.[1699] They were living in Pomfret, Windsor Co., VT, in the 1830 federal census.[1700] She died on 22 Nov. 1832 in Worcester, VT,[1701] and he remar­ried to 2.) Lucinda Chandler, daughter of Josiah and Margaret Chandler, in Mar. 1837.[1702] She was born on 25 Dec. 1800 in Pomfret, VT.[1703] He was living in Pomfret, VT, in the 1840,[1704] and 1850 federal censuses, where he was a farmer.[1705] She died on 10 Sept. 1853 in Pomfret,[1706] and he re­mar­ried again to 3.) Hannah Hewitt, daughter of Henry and Hannah (Buybee) Hewitt,[1707] on 13 Apr. 1854.[1708] She was born ca. 1810 in Barnard, VT.[1709] They were living in Pomfret, VT, in the 1860,[1710] and 1870 federal censuses,[1711] where he was a farmer. She died on 1 July 1879 in Pomfret, aged 69 years, 10 months, 17 days, of heart disease,[1712] and he died on 3 July 1884 in Pomfret, VT, aged 87 years, 9 months,[1713] but no probate records were filed for his estate in Windsor Co., VT.[1714]

c. Ophir Conant, born on 19 Nov. 1798 in Pomfret, VT,[1715] marriage not found.

d. Marshall7 Conant, born on 5 June 1801 in Pomfret,[1716] married Roxana Dar­ling, daugh­ter of John and Asenath Darling, in Sept. 1815.[1717] She was born on 6 Oct. 1806 in Pomfret, VT.[1718] He was administrator of his father’s estate in 1828. They were not found in the 1830, 1840 or 1850 federal censuses, but they were living in Bridgewater, MA, in the 1855 state census,[1719] and the 1860 federal census,[1720] where he was a common school teach­er. He died testate on 10 Feb. 1873 in Bridgewater, MA,[1721] his will dated at Framingham, Middlesex Co., MA, on 1 Dec. 1842, and probated in Plymouth Co., MA, on 21 Apr. 1873, mentioned only his wife Roxana D. Conant, who he named as executrix of his estate.[1722] (See Appendix [U] for a full transcription of his will.) She died a widow on 3 Apr. 1892 in Bridgewa­ter, aged 85 years, 5 months, 28 days, of heart disease,[1723] and they were both buried in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Bridgewater, MA.

e. Lucia Conant, born on 5 Mar. 1803 in Pomfret, VT,[1724] marriage not found.

f. Achsah Conant, born on 28 Mar. 1805 in Pomfret, died on 28 June 1831 in Pomfret, VT,[1725] presumably unmarried, but no probate records were filed for his estate in Windsor Co., VT.

g. Thomas7 Conant, born on 6 Aug. 1807 in Pomfret, VT,[1726] married 1.) Esther Chedel, of Pomfret, on 12 Sept. 1836 in East Bridgewater, MA,[1727] and they lived in East Bridgewater. She died on 24 July 1846 in East Bridgewater, aged 35 years, 11 months,[1728] and he remarried to 2.) Sarah (Gassett) Hoyt, daughter of Elisha and Polly (Pierce) Gassett, of Hopkinton, MA,[1729] and widow of Asa Hoyt,[1730] in 1847.[1731] She was born in 1815 in Hopkinton, MA.[1732] They were living in East Bridgewater, MA, in the 1850 federal census,[1733] the 1855 state census,[1734] and the 1860 federal census,[1735] where he was a shoe cutter. She died on 17 Jan. 1879 in East Bridgewater, aged 63 years, 9 months, 1 day, of “Brights Disease,”[1736] and he died a widower on 6 Mar. 1892 in East Bridgewater, aged 84 years, 6 months, of bronchitis.[1737]
