Biography

Harriett was born in 1834. She was the daughter of James Preece and Mary Williams.

She married Archibald Hitchins Spicer on 10 October 1854 in Auckland, New Zealand.

MARRIED

On Tuesday, the 10th instant, at St. Barnabas’ Church, Auckland, by the Rev. J. A. Wilson, Archibald Hitchins, only surviving son of the late Captain Alexander Edwards Spicer, of the Madras Army, to Harriett Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. James Preece, Church Missionary at Whakatane.

They went on to have at least ten children, some of whom died young.

Her husband passed away in 1883 at the age of 53.

Harriett passed away in 1917 at the age of 82.[1]

Burial

10 July 1917 - Symonds Street Cemetery, Auckland, New Zealand.
