Biography

James Prentice was born around 1830 in Scotland, the son of Alexander Prentice and Annie Young.^[1][2][3]

Around 1861 he carried on a baker's business in Wellington Street, Collingwood, Victoria, Australia. From there he went to Beechworth, then by 1865, Rutherglen, where after a short while, he took up agriculture.^[2]

In 1873 he married Mary Brown.^[4][5]

His children were:

James died on 7 October 1891 in Rutherglen Victoria.^[2][3] His remains were interred at Chiltern Cemetery in Chiltern, Victoria.^[3]
