Biography

Polly Pressey was born about 21 Jul 1793[1] in Deer Isle, Hancock, Massachusetts, United States.

Polly married Samuel Verrill Howard , son of Michael Howard and Elizabeth Verrill, intentions publshed 25 Sep 1816 [2]in Deer Isle.

Polly died on 1 Jul 1841 [3]in Deer Isle aged 47. She is buried in Old Settlers Cemetery, Deer Isle.

  1. Polly Pressy d/o John and Polly Pressey born 21 Jul 1793 at Deer Isle, is not proven to be the Polly who married Samuel Howard.

Believe you have used the wrong birth certificate for Mary Pressey married to Samuel Howard If you compare Family Search profiles for a Polly (as recorded in your birth Certificate) and Mary (who is married to Samuel) they have different parents and Polly may well have been married to a Nathaniel Marchant. Thank you very much. I think there is no compelling evidence to show which parents are correct. Her grave stone only has age 47 which put her birth date approximately 1793. Chase Pressey had a daughter Sally born 2 Nov 1793 who married Michael Howard possible twin to Mary/Polly Pressey. I did not find the reference to Nathaniel Merchant you mentioned.
