Patrick and his twin Daniel were born in Lyttelton on the 31 January 1912 to Samuel Price and Margaret Reedy. [1]
Pat and Clare moved to Akaroa on the 4 December 1949 to take over the dairy previously owned by his uncle Patrick Stanislaus Price. The household furniture was shifted by Cooks Freight, the local general carriers. Pat and Clare, Mollie, Marie aged 8, Kevin aged 6, Philip aged 2, and Pauline, aged three weeks travelled on the New Zealand Railway Road Services bus. The trip took 2 1/2 hours. It took twice as long as it does today because the road was shingle from Kaituna through to Akaroa, apart from the stretch through Little River.
