Born on 16 Jun 1862 in Agra, Bengal, India. Son of Gen. George Uvedale Price and Harriette Anne Wilhelmina, daughter of Rev Charles Robert Gayer.
Became Lieut. Welsh Regt on 22 Oct 1881, and Indian Staff Corps on 16 June 1883, served in Burmese Expedition 1886-88, Tirah Expedition 1898, Uganda 1898. Became Captain 27th Bombay Infantry on 22 Oct 1892, promoted Major 25 Jan 1899. Hon. Brig.-Gen. (retired) Indian Army.
Awards: Distinguished Service Order 1898 and 1899, Companions of the Order of the Bath 1914.
He married on 1 Oct 1889 in Bedford Ada Mary (b. 25 Apr 1867 Cheltenham, d. 30 July 1956 Wrecclesham), dau. of John Orlando Hercules Norman Oliver. Their children were Ryswynn Uvedale (b. 14 Aug 1890 in Karachi, d. 10 Mar 1906) and Merlyth Mary (b. 21 May 1895 in Cheltenham, d. 1978).
He died on 22 Feb 1942 in Winterbourne.
