Vincenzo Privitera was born about 1770 to unknown parents, Mr. and Mrs. Privitera, probably in or near Valledolmo, Sicilia, Italia. His mother's name was likely Calogera, because he has two or three granddaughters with the name Calogera.

Vincenzo Privitera is a possible grandchild of Vincenzo Privitera, born 1718. Grandsons were usually named for their father's father or their mother's father. But more research is needed to prove this connection.

1. Calogera Privitera who married Sebastiano Tripi I, and lost her husband in February 1821, about two months before the birth of their first child Sebastiano Tripi II, who was born in April 1821.

3. Vincenza Privitera, born 1792, and probably passed away young.

Research Notes

The "La Privitera" family from Valledolmo who are probable ancestors of Calogera Privitera, are descended from one of the 50 Vassals of Baron Cutelli from Genoa, Italia who settled in Valledolmo beginning in 1645 A. D. We are not sure yet if the Privitera family also came from Genoa, or just the Baron they served. The Privitera name is found in other parts of northern Italia prior to 1650.
