Biography
Catharine was born abt 1785 in Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts. Her parents were Charles Purchase and Martha Ferre.
She married John Edmunds, possibly as his 2nd wife.
John and Catharine had the following children:
- Nancy Alice, b 1820, d 1859/1860, m Nicholas Reuben Brownyard
- Caroline, b abt 1823, m Lewis Austin, d in Michigan
Catherine sued her step-children to get a land title (Lot 27 in Brighton, Monroe, New York) upon the death of her husband John. She did get the land from step-children by court order. [1]
She moved to Michigan after John died.
1840 Census in Milford, Oakland, Michigan has Catharine's name with 2 males, no females [2]
