Lydia (Quay) Ashport is a part of US Black heritage.

In their Bridgewater marriage record, Lydia is noted as "a Molatto girl brought up by Anthony Winslow."

She was the wife of former slave and American Revolutionary War soldier Cuff Ashport, and the great-grandmother of Civil War veteran Lemuel A. Ashport of the all-black 54th Massachusetts regiment.

Death

She passed away about 1842 and is buried at First Cemetery in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
