At the age of 18 years he married Leona Napier age 17 years on July 16, 1915 at the home of her parents. Marriage performed by Eli T. Wooten, her grandfather. They had a large family.
Golden was ordained in 1938 as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ into Old Bethlehem Association of United Baptists.
He passed away in 1972. Burial was in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, Wayne County, WV, USA.
