Margaret Ramsay married Alexander Bell 26 March 1646. The following marriage record appears in the old Register for St. Andrew's Church, in St. Andrews, Scotland: Thursday 26th of March 1646 contracted Alexander Bell with Margaret Ramsay, both in this Citie, married 21st May.[1]
Other sources add that the marriage, contracted on 26 March (the day after New Year's Day by the old calendar), was conducted on 21 May following.[2]
From this one may conclude:
