Biography

George was born in 1865 in Illinois, the son of William L. Rankin and Susan Jame Primm. He married Daisy Dean Hocker (1866-1947). They had seven children. George Montgomery Rankin died in 1956. [1]

In 1900, the Rankin family lived on their rented farm in Woodside Township, Sangamon, Illinois. The household included George M. Rankin, 23, born in Illinois in June 1865, a gardener; his wife of twelve years, Daisy, 24, b. Indiana, Apr. 1866, who had had four children, all of whom were living; their children, Sue Deon, 11, b. Nebraska, Sept. 1889, in school; George W., 9, b. Neb., Nov. 1891, in school; Paul Primm, 7, b. IL, Dec. 1893, in school; and Oscar H., 5, b. Missouri, Sept. 1895. Also living with them were two farm laborers.[2]

In 1910, the Rankin family lived on their rented farm in Gifford, Nez Perce, Idaho. The family included George M. Rankin, 49, born in Illinois, a farmer; his wife, Daisy, 49, b. Indiana, who had had seven children, all living; their children, al born in Illinois, except as noted: Sue Don, 20, b. Nebraska, house helper; George W., 18, b. Neb., farm helper; Paul F., 16; Oscar H., 14, b. Missouri, Arthur E., 9; Ralph R., 5, b. Oklahoma; and Ruth, 5, b. Okla. All of the children were in school, except for the eldest two.[3]

George Montgomery Rankin, 91, widowed, a retired farmer, died of pneumonia on 12 October 1956 at Camas Nursing Home, Camas. Clark, Washington. He was a resident of Camas, and had lived on Garfield Street. [4]

George Montgomery Rankin is buried with his wife and their son, Paul. P.Rankin (1893-1936), at Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston, Idaho. [1]
