1833 Jesse Raper was born at Johnston County, NC.

1850 At age 17, Jesse was farming and living with his parents, Martin and Nancy Raper, in Itawamba County, MS[1]

1853 February 6 Jesse Raper married Patsey Raines

1862 May 14 Jesse enlisted in Company K, 42nd Regiment; Mississippi Infantry; Confederate at Saltillo, MS as a private.

1863 July 1 Jesse Raper was present at the Battle of Gettysburg.

1863 July 14 He was missing in action at the Battle of Falling Water.

1863 July 14 He was captured and taken as a prisoner of war.

1863 July 23 He appeared on a roll of prisoners of war at Old Prison, Washington D.C.

1863 August 3 Jesse Raper appeared on a roll of prisoners of war at Old Capitol Prison, Washington D.C.

1864 January 28 Jesse Raper took the oath of allegiance and joined the United States Army.

1881 March 10 to May 7,1901 He received a pension for his service in Co. K. 42nd Regiment; Mississippi Infantry.

1901 Jesse Raper died.
