Biography

A. Vance Ratley was born on 12 February 1901 in Cumberland County, North Carolina, United States. He was the son of William Barry Richard Ratley and Laura Jean (McArthur) Ratley.^[1][2]

He and Sarah Kathryn "Kate" Dean were married about 1924 according to information in the 1930 United States Census. They were the parents of at least three children according to information in the 1930 and 1940 United States Censuses.

A. V. Ratley of Hope Mills, Cumberland County, North Carolina was named in his mother's obituary when she died in 1950.^[3]

A. Vance Ratley passed away on 09 February 1956 in Hope Mills, Cumberland County, North Carolina. He was buried in Gilmont Cemetery, Hope Mills, Cumberland County, North Carolina.^[2][4]
