The son of Jesse Reagan and Rutha (Barnes) Reagan, Pat Reagan was born in Tazewell, Tennessee[citation needed] in 1887. He moved with his family to Ellis County, Texas, residing in 1900 in Ellis County's Precinct 2.[1] His mother passed away in 1906 and in 1910, Pat lived in Lowrance Township, Oklahoma, residing in the home of his employers, David and Mary Bindeman, for whom Pat worked as a gardener.[2] with attached Image
Pat registered for the World War I draft at age 30, registering in Sulphur, Oklahoma on June 5, 1917.[3] He stated that he lived in Sulphur, Oklahoma and that he worked in farming. Pat was described as a slender man, of medium height, with red hair and blue eyes. He enlisted on September 20, 1917 and was discharged on May 27, 1919.[4]
After the war, Pat returned to Oklahoma, residing with his widowed father and his two of his brothers in Lowrance, Oklahoma, working on his father's farm.[5] He purchased a tract of land in Phoenix, Arizona in 1920.[6]
Pat married his wife, Mildred (Barker) Reagan, marrying in Garvin County, Oklahoma on March 31, 1923,[7] having two children together. They made their home in 1930 in Lowrance, Oklahoma, renting a home there and working rented farm land.[8] Pat and Mildred divorced by 1940 and Pat and his son, James, moved to Supervisory District 1 in Maricopa County, Airzona, outside of Tempe, residing at the intersection of Mountain View Court and Creamery Road.[9] He worked that year for the Works Progress Administration, working as a watchman.
Pat registered for the World War II draft when he was 54, registering in Phoenix, Arizona on April 27, 1942.[10] He stated that he lived on 33rd Street in Van Buren Township, Arizona and that he worked for himself. Pat was described as 5'11" tall and 160 pounds, and will had red hair. Having registered in the "old man's draft," he did not enlist.
Pat registered with the Social Security Administration in 1958[11] and passed away at the age of 77,[12] dying of injuries sustained after he was struck by a dump truck while out walking on 16th Street in Phoenix. His daughter, Verna Mae Ross, filed suit on January 7, 1963, filing in Superior Court against the truck driver and the owner of the truck; the driver of the truck was William B. Jowell, 34, of 5217 S. Montezuma and the owner of the truck was Phoenix-Tempe Stone Company. Verna, who lived at 1323 E. Hess, sought $50,000 damages for herself and on behalf of her brother, James Reagan. [13]
Pat's daughter applied for a military grave marker and Patrick Reagan was buried at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, Arizona.[14][15]
