Biography
Son of William Reames and Naomi Vaughn. He was the eighth child of 10 children and the seventh son. Brother to: Margaret (who married Thomas Stanfield, Jr.), Caleb, Jeremiah, Silas, Moses, Aaron, Jesse, William P. and John C. He married MARY VASSAR Dec 1, 1834 in Logan county. They were parents to: Nancy, John Lafayette, Joshua M., Elizabeth Minerva, William M., Irene, Leander, Joseph Wilmet and Mary Eliza.
He purchased 80 acres of land in Lima, Ohio on 03-16-1837.
The 1850 Census shows them living in Jefferson Twp, Cass, Michigan.
The 1860 U.S. Census shows him living in Bokes Creek, Logan, Ohio but Irene and Leander are not shown; only Joshua, Minerva, William, Vincent and Joseph. The last name is mis-spelled as "Rams".
Age at death = 64 years, 7 mos, 25 days. This would equate to a DOB of May 16, 1805. The "Gateway to the West" shows his DOD as 01-11-1869 in Vol I but 1870 in Vol II, however his grave marker shows 01-11-1870 (but it also shows his age as 64 y 8 m). The "Biographical Record" states his DOB as May 4, 1804.
