John was born in 1868. He was the son of Joel Rednour and Hannah Raines. He passed away in 1946.

In the 1910 census of Piney Woods, Clinton County, KY, Richard Rednour is the head of household (age 42). Also noted on this census is his wife Mollie (age 32), and their children Della (11), Martha E (10), Thomas (5), "Malissie" (sic) (Melissa) (3), and Henry (age 0).

In the 1920 census for Piney Woods, Clinton County, KY, the family surname is mis-recorded as "Rednor". Head-of-household is John R "Rednor" (sic), age 51, and wife Mollie A (age 41). Also recorded are their children Melissa J Rednor (age 12), Tommie (no age given), Joseph H (age 10), Polly E (age 8), Ina (age 5), and Myra (age 3).

In the 1930 census for Hayes, Clinton County, KY, the family surname is misspelled as "Redour". Head-of-household is John R "Redour" (age 61), wife Mollie (age 51), and their children "Mollissie" (sic) (age 23), Henry (age 20), and Myra W (age 13).
