The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) ... he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reece, and resided continuously in the district for 64 years.

BINGARA, Friday.
The death occurred In Sydney of Mr. Jacob Steel Recce, 69 years, farmer and grazier, and pioneer of the Bingara district, Bom at Kingdom Pond, Scone, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Reece, and resided continuously in the district for 64 years. For some years he was manager of the Australian Diamond Mines at Bingara. Later Mr. Reece took up land, known as Broad Acre, which he retained until his death. He was a well known stock breeder and dealer. He leaves a wife and five sons-Messrs. James Steel Reece, Sydney: Charles Reece, Mosman post-office, Sydney: George Reece, Ivan Reece,and Ronald Reece, of Bingara-and five daughters-Mrs. McCaw, Warialda railway; Mrs. Len Sawyer, Dalveen, Queensland; Mrs,Turner, Dalby (Queensland); Mrs. Walter Meyall, Walgett; and Mrs. Aubrey Reading,Bingara. For many years he had assisted in any class of sport, and as a mark of appreciation for his valued services the various sporting bodies marched in front of the cortege to the graveside. The Rev. S. C. Wiseman, officiated, and the remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the Bingara Cemetery.
