Thomas Reed was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

Thomas was born in about 1867 in Tennessee. He was the son of John Wiley Reed and Amanda Caroline (Coatney) Reed.^[1]

In the 1880 census Thomas (age 13) was living in Hatmaker, Campbell, Tennessee, United States.^[1]

Thomas died in 1938. He was buried in Bishopville Cemetery, Heiskell, Knox County, Tennessee.^{[2] [3]}
