Biography

John Reed was born in August 1701, probably in Taunton, Massachusetts Bay. In 1733 he was living in Wellington, Connecticut, where he married Lydia Elizabeth Caswell on about October 7. In 1751 he bought 80 acres of land in Tolland, Connecticut.^[1]

Reed and his wife Elizabeth had seven children: Matthew, Abigail, Shubael, Mary, Hannah and Huldah.^[1]
