Many of my paternal ancestors settled in Wilson County, Tennessee and I have ancestors in what became Tennessee before it was even a state. I have a pretty good tree back through the 1800s, but when the census runs out, going back through time, I need more training and education on how to do the research in that era.

When I began this research, I had no idea I had family that had been here for so long! I thought I would just trace each line of my family back to its country of origin. Thirty years later......still not there!

I am in touch with various levels of cousins all over the country and occasionally even the world. Although much of my family has been in this country for 3 or 400 years, I do have both German and Irish ancestors who only came over in the mid-1800s.
