Biography
Birth
Robert Grant RETTIE was born in New York, New York, USA on 27 Aug 1922. [1] He was the son of Alexander RETTIE and Margaret GRANT.[1]
School
In 1930, he was an "inmate" (together with his two brothers) at the Masonic Home in Utica , Oneida, New York, USA.[2]
Military Service
On 4 Jan 1943, he enlisted in the United States Army and attended Officers Candidate School.[1]
During World War Two he was awarded for his wartime efforts by the French government.[1]
In the Korean War he received the Silver Star award for bravery.[1]
In 1966, he served as Adjudant General, 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam.[1]
In 1975, he retired as a full Colonel.[1]
Death
On 30 Dec 2001, he died at his home in Houston, Texas, USA when he was 79 years old.[1]
