Josephine Irene G. Reynolds was born in 1841 to Hosea and Sarah Ware Reynolds. She was counted in the 1850 census under the roof of her brother, Charles T. Reynolds, in a household counted below that of Hosea and Sarah in Baltimore. She was age 7, white female, born in Maryland, with no indication of any occupation. She is surrounded by eight other siblings.[1]
Josephine's middle name was gathered from family sources as well as Find A Grave.[2]
Josephine lived on a farm in 1915, and two months before she died, the barn burned "along with 20 tons of hay, a large amount of fodder, grain, agricultural implements and other things. A great number of livestock also perished in the flames. The building was insured, but nothing else. The loss was placed at $5,000.[3]
"Mrs. Josephine Harding, widow of Jos. Harding, died last week at her home near Ednor, aged 68 years. Her death was due to apoplexy and followed an illness of two days." Survived by four sons and three daughters. Funeral took place at her home, with Rev. Dr. Gill, pastor of Methodist Chruch at Ednor, officiating.[4]
