Elizabeth Verlinda Rhodes Pearson was the daughter of William Rhodes, Jr. and Sarah Hastin/Hastings. She married Ira James Lee Pearson at Jacks Creek, Henderson County, TN, 18 Oct 1855. They came to Johnson County in 1872 with the first nine of their twelve children, the last three being born in Johnson County.
Several of their children and families are buried in the Caddo Cemetery.
[Jacks Creek was originally part of Henderson County but became part of Chester County when it was created. Chester County was the last county formed in Tennessee, created by the General Assembly in 1875 from adjacent parts of neighboring Hardeman, Henderson, McNairy, and Madison Counties. This land was used to create a county named Wisdom County, but "Wisdom County" was never organized, and in March 1879 the Assembly repealed this and created Chester County out of the same land. Lawsuits by opponents of the creation of the new county delayed actual organization until 1882.]
