Biography

Ann Matilda Rhodes was born about 1810. She was the daughter of James Rhodes and Mary Willcocks. Ann was known as Matilda through much of her life.

Matilda was married to Jacob Richard Thralls on June 1, 1830, in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.[1] She and Jacob took out their license and were married on the same day. Her brother Hillary C. Rhodes signed the bond for the marriage and her father, James, signed the consent. The witnesses to the ceremony, which was performed by the minister Samuel Carpenter, were her brothers Hillary and John A.

She died on February 24, 1872, in Edina, Knox County, Missouri.

June 1, 1830 - Marriage - Married to Jacob Richard Thralls in Bardstown, Nelson County, Kentucky.

1850 - United States Federal Census - In 1850, Jacob Thralls, 50, his wife, Ann, 40, and their family are farming near Sugar Creek, Vigo County, Indiana. The family includes Mary Thralls, 18; John Thralls, 17; Rosann Thralls, 14; George Thralls, 13; Virginia Thralls, 12; Henry Thralls, 12; Constantine Thralls, 7; and Joseph Thralls, 2. Also with the family is John Elkins, 62.[2]

1860 - United States Federal Census - In 1860, Jacob Thralls, 61, was farming in Greensburg, Knox County, Missouri, with his wife, Ann M. Thralls, 51, and children Constantine Thralls, 16; Joseph Thralls, 12; Arrara C. Thralls, 10 and Francis E. Thralls. 2.[3]

February 24, 1872 - Death - Edina, Knox County, Missouri.
