Nelson John Ribey was born in 1895. Records were inconsistent, some showing his names reversed: "John Nelson Ribey".
He married Mary Pearl Clazie in 1923 at Port Elgin, Ontario, or Paisley, Ontario. Records show two different dates: 7 September and 12 September.
The locality was variously called "Port Elgin", "Paisley", "Arran-Elderslie", "Saugeen Township", "Saugeen Shores" - all seem to mean the same general locality. Why so much inconsistency about names?
The 1931 Canada census showed "Nelson Ribey", with no middle name, lived in "Bruce North", part of "Bruce Township", with his wife and four children.
He died in 1953 and was buried at Sanctuary Park, Saugeen Township, Ontario.
