Biography

Andrew Richardson was born in 1812 or 1813 at Roxburghshire, Scotland. He could be the Andrew Richardson born 31 Jul 1812 to John Richardson and Jane Armstrong at Kelso, Roxburghshire^[1].

Andrew married Margaret Gibson about 1838. Their daughter Agnes was born in 1839 and son John was born in 1840 in Scotland. They emigrated to Canada in 1840 and settled at Wellington County, Canada West (Ontario). They had at least six additional children in Canada.

In the 1851 Canada census, Andrew was age 37 living at Garafraxa, Wellington County, Canada West (Ontario), Canada with his wife Margaret Richardson (37?), daughter Agness Richardson (13), sons John Richardson (11), Andrew Richardson (9), Thomas Richardson (7), James Richardson (5), Robert Richardson (3), William Richardson (2)^[2][3].

In the 1861 Canada census, Andrew was age 49 living at Garafraxa, Wellington, Ontario, Canada with his wife Margaret Richardson (47?), daughter Jane Richardson (6), sons John Richardson (20), James[Andrew] Richardson (18), James Richardson (16), Robert Richardson (16), William Richardson (14)^[4][5].

In the 1871 Canada census, Andrew was age 58 living at West Garafraxa, Wellington, Ontario, Canada with his wife Margaret Richardson (61), daughter Jane Richardson (18), sons James Richardson (25), Robert Richardson (24), William Richardson (20)^[6][7].

In the 1881 Canada census, Andrew was age 69 living at Garafraxa West, Wellington, Ontario, Canada with his wife Margaret Richardson (68?), daughter Jane Richardson (26)^[8][9].

Andrew's wife Margaret died in 1884. Andrew went to live with his daughter Agness Bayne.

In the 1901 Canada census, Andrew was age 88 living at Wellington (centre), Ontario, Canada with his daughter Agness Bayne (62), her husband Lewis Bayne (73), their son Parker M Bayne (17)^[10][11].

Andrew died in 1902 at Fergus, Wellington, Ontario, Canada and was buried at Belsyde Cemetery^[12].
