His daughter, Mary (Richardson) Walker (1811-1897), was a Congregational Missionary to the Spokane Indians of the Pacific North-west. She and her husband, Elkanah Walker (1805-1877) were pioneers of the Oregon Trail (1838) and helped found the Tshimakain Mission in what is now Ford, Washington. He published the first book in the state of Washington, a Salish language primer. [1]
