My grandmother, Marie V Buchheit Fullerton (aka Graminee to me) told me that Lily's birth mother was Jenny Leeper. She died and her father remarried a Rimer. Therefore, I have hyphenated her last name. No one seems to know this story but me in my family!
Here is another story "Graminee" told me that her mother Lily told her:
In Lily's teenage years, (late 1800's) there was a son of a wealthy man who raped a young girl. The authorities at that time, did nothing to him as they were afraid to make enemies of the wealthy landowner. The women in their family (I don't know if Lily was involved, I would think not) banded together and hunted this rapist down, took him to a barn and pinned his (fill in the blanks) to his stomach with a large horse blanket pin. He died and no charges were brought against the women.

I remember visiting the Buchheit farm (GG Lily Ann Rimer and GG Philip Buchheit) in Punxsutawney, PA many times. One special memory of my great grandmother is sitting around her very large table for breakfast. She had made buckwheat pancakes and I, being the pickiest eater ever known, wasn’t sure I even wanted to try them! My beloved grandmother (Virginia) Marie convinced me to try and I was so surprised that they were delicious.
