Biography
Joseph Ritner Roberts was born 07 Mar 1838 in Falls, Pennsylvania. His parents were Henry Roberts and Nancy Wilson.
In 1860, Joseph fathered a child with Lydia Fitch. The child's name was Joseph Henry Fitch, and there is no proof that Joseph and Lydia ever married. The fact the Joseph Henry Fitch took his mothers maiden name, and lived with his grandparent provides evidence they did not marry.[1]
In 1861, Joseph enlisted in the Civil War: Enlisted 04 Nov 1861 PA 52nd Inf company H, Mustered out 12 Jul 1865. He was a First Lieutenant when he mustered out.[2]
Joseph never married.
He passed away in 1923 In Falls, Pennsylvania and is buried at the Robert's Cemetery in the same town.
